Zombie Mosh revolves around the premise that players are zombies bashing each other in a mosh pit of a death metal concert. The idea is to be the last zombie standing at the end of each song. And it’s as silly as it sounds!
The game and gameplay
Everyone receives a zombie board with body parts listed on it. Each player is dealt a hand of cards and players have the option to attack an opponent and try to knock his limbs off, or defend their own body parts.
Each attack that comes in undefended costs one hit to a particular body part. If a player takes three hits, he loses the body part and if three parts are lost, he’s out of the game.
There are two levels in the game. Each zombie card is double-sided. Basic rules apply to one side where every zombie character has the same hit points for each body part. Advanced side is only different in that each zombie character has varying hit points. For example, one’s character may have a left arm with a hit point value of 2, while another’s character may possibly have a value of 6.
Pros and Cons
It doesn’t take long to pick up and learn the basics of the game. Though this game is recommended for ages nine and up, even younger kids could understand how to play the game in no time.
For a game that plays 15 minutes or so, it can be an enjoyable way to kill time.
But Zombie Mosh gets old pretty fast. It doesn’t come across as a game that can be played over and over again but that doesn’t necessarily make it a bad game. It’s just because Zombie Mosh doesn’t work that way. It is primarily designed as a party game that targets teens in particular thus this game is just not for everybody.

Zombie Mosh board game doesn’t hold enough substance and depth, but that doesn’t mean it is not fun to play for a while. It is certainly not a complex strategy game but it does have the ability to entertain and create a moment of fun. If asked why Zombie Mosh deserves a credit, it’s because it is a light, fun game that doesn’t take itself seriously. It’s very quick to learn unlike other games belonging to the zombie genre that take hours to play and require the players to spend serious time to learn the rules before actually playing the game.
