Quick verdict
Peanuts Halloween Yahtzee is a licensed edition based on the famous It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Halloween animated classic. Really, it’s the grand old Yahtzee game, just themed to the movie.
The game and gameplay
What is there really to say about a new edition of Yahtzee? There’s no point discussing the rules, because they are essentially unchanged from the original Yahtzee rules.
You are still aiming to complete combinations of dice. In this case, the combinations relate to the famous cartoon characters on the sides of the dice, instead of numbers as you’ll find on the original edition’s dice.
There’s some nice details here, including Snoopy lying on top of a giant pumpkin instead of his kennel, and Linus emerging from a pumpkin in the same style as Marylin Monroe surprising the President out of a giant birthday cake.

Halloween Yahtzee is another solid choice of Halloween games
Five of a kind is still Yahtzee, but instead of runs (straights), you need four or five different characters on the dice to score points. Three of a kind plus a pair is still a full house.
Whether or not you buy this comes down to: the person you’re buying for being crazy about Peanuts, or not; you hosting a Peanuts-themed Halloween party, or not.
Pros and cons
The dice are robust and the characters are well attached.
Lovely Peanuts theme really puts you in the Halloween games mood.
A good, mixed-age group game for when there are players too young to enjoy the Zombie games you got for the teenagers.
Can be hard to distinguish between the different characters, as the images are quite small.
The numbers provided as an alternative to the images are tiny, and people with poor eyesight won’t be able to read them.
The verdict
Charlie Brown the Great Pumpkin Yahtzee is exactly what you’d expect from a licensed Yahtzee edition. It’s true to the source material, doesn’t add anything to the gameplay, and great if you like Peanuts and Halloween. Otherwise, there’s not much going for it.
