Players:

Quick verdict
Yet again another Office homage. And one that I was a bit hesitant to try, but once again my love for this show really beckoned me about.
The game and gameplay
First of all, the rules sheet is written on a Dunder Mifflin Memo… how cool is that? The DVD is a Human Resources video which you get to interact with the DVD and use the board as a guide.
The game includes one DVD video, one game board, 300 Schrute Bucks, a die, 16 character game pieces and six moving stands.
The objective of the game is simple, you’re being hired for Dunder Mifflin and you must complete the Orientation Video tasks.
As you travel around the board, you land on icons that show you what to watch on the DVD. By completing tasks you earn what’s called Schrute Bucks.
On the way to the boss’ office you even have to stop by Dewight Schrute’s desk, no matter what you roll.To start The Office DVD Game, you choose the player whose birthday is closest to the day you’re playing on. Players begin in reception and work their way around the board clockwise till they find Michael Scott’s office.
Depending upon the die rolls players move around the board and conduct various activities based on the spots they land on.
However if you choose the middle path, you must confront Dewight Schrute. This you cannot skip, but however taking the middle path is fastest just if you fail Dwight’s tasks then he hammers you with penalties and if you pass, he gives you nothing but permits you to pass.
Once a player reaches Michael’s office, Michael will ask you if you have 20 Schrute Bucks. If you do, you win the game.
If not, Michael sends you back for retraining…
Pros and cons
Personally I really think this game is hilarious, even if it is a DVD game. Those interactive games like that never excited me outside of something fantasy-related.
Once again Pressman games hands us a nice party game in The Office DVD Game, something light and not too complicated to play.
The DVD is repetitive with some of its selections when you land on multiple locations one after another. The game is pretty straightforward and it doesn’t offer any variation.
The verdict
The Office DVD Game
is simply brilliant. Like the trivia game, rather difficult if you don’t watch the series.
