Quick verdict
SWTP is THE game for ‘Wars heads. If you love boring people to death with snippets of info about Episodes 4-6, then you MUST own this game!
The game and gameplay
First there was classic Trivial Pursuit, then there was Star Wars Trivial Pursuit.
Questions range from general knowledge about the first three films, to questions that would thrill the most dedicated fanatics. Questions include character identification, actors and roles, scenes, backstory and more.
Editor’s note: This game has achieved collectable status, hence its high price on various game-selling websites like Amazon. We suggest you save yourself fifty bucks by looking for it on eBay.The basic questions in Star Wars Trivial Pursuit can be answered by anyone who has seen the films, even if long ago. The more more challenging questions may make a fan scratch their head.
The edition I own came with a “starter pack” of cards for the new films. Purists will appreciate keeping the new movie information separate. There may be a later edition containing the new films.
The verdict
The board will be familiar looking to those that love the classic Trivial Pursuit, although it features Star Wars characters. A nice touch is the “dice” that’s an electronic R2D2. It randomly selects the number of spaces you must move when you press its head! Sheer campy bliss. A must-have.
