An interesting idea: making Yahtzee a card game and forcing players to make classic Yahtzee combinations by taking cards from the other player, or drawing from the pile.
Card games are hugely popular, even with kids, so this makes sense, though I prefer the rattle of dice when playing Yahtzee.
