Quick verdict
Koi Solitaire isn’t your usual solitaire; it’s Klondike come to life with a happening story and amusing characters. It’s a nice break from the usual straightforward card game.
What’s it about?
Jessica follows all things floral, so she decides to open up a gardening business using special playing cards as her tools of the trade.
A basic level is a funky-shaped patch of Earth where you must lay down cards that have an ascending or descending value next to each other.
Suit doesn’t matter, and as soon as you make a match, that area is transformed into fertile beauty. Once the whole plot has turned to foliage, the level is won.
Cards appear in a sort of conveyor belt line, and if any fall off it will awaken your sleeping cat and the level will be over. There are Jokers, power-ups and mini-games to make playing even prettier.
Pros and cons
+ Unique spin on an old favorite.
– Only one game type; no deck unlocks.
The verdict
Koi Solitaire is an endearing take on the traditional card game. It may not have a ton of replay value, but it’s fun while it lasts.
