“Be yourself. Above all, let who you are, what you are, what you believe, shine through every sentence you write, every piece you finish.”
Hello, my name is Emily. I’m a student currently studying at college in the Liberal Arts program, focusing on developing my reading, writing and critical thinking skills. I strongly believe that having the ability to convey our thoughts into words on paper is a talent everyone should possess.
In my spare time, I write poetry and spend time outdoors with my horses, it’s a great way to clear your mind of unwanted clutter.
Literature is what I love. Give me a book, and I’ll devour it seconds. Give me something to write and you’ll get an intense piece of work infused with the passion I hold of getting words out exactly how they were meant to be written.
I’m big on fantasy, other worlds, magic… anything that requires using my imagination. That’s not to say that I’m obsessed with vampires, fairies and sorcery. I also enjoy being challenged; I like reading things that make me pause, take a breath and question everything.
Sometimes questioning yourself is hard, oftentimes it’s something we don’t want to do as a society. But I think the key to finding out exactly who you are and what you want to be is to question that which exists around you, including yourself. The way I do that is through writing. I don’t really know what I want to be later on in life, I’m too young to set myself a concrete plan and follow through with it, but I do know that it will have something to do with words because that’s when I’m myself the most.
