It's been ten years since the Settlers of Catan arrived and drove us all hex-mad. To celebrate this milestone, Mayfair Games have released this super duper special deluxe limited edition of the game that costs around ten times as much as the regular version.
What do you get for your money? Well, for starters you get a big old wooden chest to keep it in. If pirates have taught us nothing else, and they haven't, it's that things are more valuable if they are kept inside wooden chests.
If you want an edition of Catan that your descendants will be playing long after civilization has collapsed into ruins, then this is the one for you.
It's also a good way to one-up the neighbors. At least until the solid-gold 25th anniversary edition is released in 2023.
Best of all, the Amazon price of $304 is almost 40 per cent below list, cheaper than anything offered on eBay, and apparently "stuck" there -- usually Amazon's prices fluctuate a lot, but this price has stayed stable for a long while. Grab one while you can!
