Restoring Rhonda is a bizarre concept. It's Match 3 meets mangled artwork. It doesn't offer anything that other Match 3 games don't do better.
What's it about?
You play Rhonda, a rather miserable-looking art restorer who ruined a painting by drinking the wrong coffee(?!). You need to rebuild your career, oddly by playing Match 3 games and using tools earned during those games to restore people's paintings.
You have a magical box that releases bronze, silver and gold level restoring tools. These are earned by grabbing coins and matching the symbols representing each tool. For example, match lots of tweezers and you will earn more uses of the tweezers to peel crud off the mangled artworks of your clients.
If you've played Match 3 games where you had to release each square from "ice" or locks, then you'll know just what to expect here. Each and every square of the screen must be involved in at least one match.
Because there are limited colours, you'll find yourself making (by accident or design) combinations. Big combos leads to more gold coins.
Once you earn all the tools needed to restore the paintings, you'll play the mini-games to actually do the restoration. These are tedious and repetitive and undermine the game. Shame, because they are the reason you're playing in the first place!

- Silly scenario. You won't feel much empathy for Restoring Rhonda. She's pretty lame.

The verdict
Restoring Rhonda is a fairly decent Match 3 game attached to a highly unlikely and unappealing storyline. The restoration bit lets the game down.
