Pokemon Monopoly comes in two different versions.

The more recent version features Pokemon characters as tokens which have full color, as in the original cartoons. However, collectors will fancy the rarer early edition with pewter tokens.

You might expect waning interest in this franchise to have decimated the value of the set, but it seems not. You can probably ignore Amazon.com's price of $300 (!! May 2009), although on Amazon's aftermarket there are much cheaper options.

eBay has the more recent set going from a tempting $5, while the rarer pewter edition has one box set listed, but the price tag is $100. Whether you feel that's a good price or not depends on how badly you want the set.

If you're going to lash out three figures on this item, make sure ahead of time it has the pewter tokens.
