Get the door; it’s Pizza Frenzy! While an earlier game from the time management/arcade genres (it came out in 2005), Pizza Frenzy still serves up plenty of fun!
What’s it about?
Help the Stromboli family prove that their pies deserve a second helping... and a second chance. Pizza Frenzy is a quick-clicking, comically cute arcade and strategy came that puts you in the driver’s seat (of the delivery car, anyway).
While the game boasts 12 wacky locales, the levels in an area itself only have a slightly different layout. Each round oversees a neighborhood, where you’ll get caller ID of the photogenic kind as orders come in.
The hungry and homebound will present you with an icon of their pizza of choice, and you must click to pick up these requests and drop them on their respective kitchen. You have way less than 30 minutes to get their pizza delivered, so get it right or they will hang up all call Pizza Hut instead.
The game gets more involved as you try to light up the PIZZA sign at a topping’s headquarters. You do this by comboing your orders so that you have as many of one type going in the oven at once as you can.

Each time you max out a sign it’s called a Pizza Frenzy, which earns you extra dough (the non-edible kind). Coupons can be used to change a customer’s mind so as not to interrupt your pizza chains, but they’ll also increasingly set you back financially. It’s quite fun to try to aim for a high score of say, two dozen of the same pizzas in a row.
Adding to the heat is the fact that the customers – like pizza – come in a lot of different types. There’s a socialite who will gab to the surrounding neighbors about what to order, a burglar who will steal your money unless you have him arrested, and a kindly bank teller who will gather your temporary tips for you, presumably so he can put them in a high-interest IRA.

Pros and cons
+ Three separate game modes to play in, meaning you’ll be ordering in a lot!
+ New topping choices get introduced as you progress to include ice cubes, donuts, French fries, and caviar!
+ Toppings are upgraded as you Frenzy them, improving their quality and subsequently improving your profits.
+ Wonderful pizza-making mini-game where you score cash by mimicking a set of peculiar pies.
+ You can also design your own pizzas and have customers order them in the game!
- While I believe one could never get sick of pizza for long in real life, the levels and core gameplay wind up being much of the same.
The verdict
This is a hot order! Pizza Frenzy is time management with a twist; the twist being that you aren’t given a lot of time in the first place! It’s a yummy distraction that will satiate some.
