We've heard of humans supposedly being abducted by aliens, but kittens? This is a cute and fun puzzle game.
What's it about?
Kitten Sanctuary is a surprisingly in-depth Match 3 game for how sugary sweet it appears. The premise is to keep the alien from kidnapping a particular cat using a weapon of matching to clear shaded areas and basket traps.
At the same time, you want to keep an eye on your stock of tuna, milk and wood and attempt to fill these quotas by the end of the level.
Once you've rescued a kitty by clearing a Match 3 board, he or she goes to one of four island sanctuaries. Just because a cat is at a sanctuary, however, doesn't mean that he is safe.
If you don't keep close tabs on the moods of your many pets, they may become depressed and run away and get captured by the alien again. You can keep your cats happy by decorating their homes, staying stocked on food supplies and buying them toys to play with.
At the end of 100 lengthy levels, you'll have finally beaten that pesky alien, hopefully without having had any kittens run away in the process.

Pros and cons
+ You can click on a feline to read an amusing profile of his likes and dislikes.
+ The cats display adorable animations like swatting a toy mouse.
+ The occasional "trap" board mixes up the usual gameplay.
+ A variety of familiar faces and customer types from DinerTown.
- Toggling between all of your many cats to try and keep them content can prove tiresome and time-consuming.
- The version I played did not allow me to go back and re-play the rounds once I beat the game, deeming the awards for expert status on levels useless.
The verdict
Kitten Sanctuary is a "purrfect" choice if you like your games sweet, lengthy, and addicting. It may not be the cat's meow if you're allergic to cuteness or bored by simple puzzle games.
