Surprise, surprise – Wedding Dash was actually the first game to steal my heart and turn me into a time management addict, not Diner Dash (although Flo was a close second). This spin-off still maintains plenty of originality.
A basic level starts by having you help Quinn pick out three things that will make the current couple’s big day fairytale perfect. Rather than putting their desires bluntly, the engaged pair describes their wishes a bit cryptically.
It’s your job to choose the correct dish, decoration, destination, etc. from a set of three at the beginning of a level to score some starter points. You can always restart if you select the wrong touches (something you’ll definitely want to do later in the game, when you need all of the points that you can get). The game skips over the actual ceremonies and heads straight to the receptions, where Quinn takes on more of a background role. You play mostly as a no-name waitress, seating guests, delivering their gifts to the bride and groom, and distributing courses.
Quinn does act as a hostess, cheering up waiting arrivals who obviously aren’t accustomed to standing for very long. She performs damage control for a variety of wedding mishaps (battling bridesmaids, drunken uncles, emotional grannies).
Seating isn’t assigned at these shindigs, but you can bet the people in attendance have preferences. Some want to sit at a specific table, while others have a special someone in mind that they would like to cozy up to. Want this game FREE? Join Fun Ticket and it's yours!
It’s all a quest to get to the end of the event as smoothly as you can, all things considering. You’re consistently managing two major groups of people at once – those who are getting ticked off in line, and those who are growing impatient in their seats.
You’ll feel like an unappreciated mother as you attempt to feed those who are sitting as fast as possible, direct Quinn to fix emergencies, calm people down in line, and fill more seats. The guests, of course, have varying tempers and eating speeds, which doesn’t help matters.
If you can’t keep it together, the missus literally WILL turn into a bridezilla. If that happens, the reception’s ruined and you have to start over. You’ll also have to re-do it if you fall short of the goal points, so remember to (ball and) chain!
Wedding Dash can easily join the ranks of Diner Dash as being a "classic" T.M. game. It’s fun and funny, offering just a bit less challenge than that first year of marriage will be.
