Block Party is a funky little Match 3 game with some upbeat music. The premise is that you're picking members for your band, but you'll soon see that it's really up to luck who's “in” and who's “out”.
What's it about?
Tell me if this sounds like a weird method for American Idol: 11 hopefuls are put up on platforms, and those that get chosen to perform are based off of the podiums you tear out from underneath them. It won't make sense in real life, but this is exactly what you do in Block Party.
In order to get a particular starlet to crash down onto the stage, you need to clear the rectangles holding their column up via Match 3. This is not made easy by the fact that a new line gets added to the bottom of the stacks every few seconds.
You also can't completely ignore the competitors you deem talentless, either, because once they hit the ceiling and threaten a lawsuit, the game will be over.
You're aiming to fill the slots for 9 pop rockers within the time cap per level. Don't let heavy metal punks into your band, as you'll lose points and just have to replace them.
