Axis and Allies strategy: Europe -- Victory as the Axis
Victory for the Axis in Axis and Allies Europe
is extremely difficult, even if the Allies have handicaps.
There are several steps that must be taken on the road to victory. This Axis and Allies strategy should set you on your path to glory!
First, you must strike with all your forces on the first time. If you fail to do this, the overwhelming Allied production will overcome your early-on numeric advantage.
This first strike involves taking total sea-supremacy. In order to do this, the very first move of the game, send all available subs to the convoy routes to cripple IPC production for the next turn or so.
Also dispatch two subs to seal off the British fleet in the Mediterranean (and later on build several more to finish the job if they fail) and kill them. If any Allies remain there, Axis forces in North Africa will need a lot of luck to survive.
Once you've taken the Caucasus from Allied control, turn your attention towards the northern part of Russia. Aim straight for Moscow. Without that city, Russian forces are dead men walking. After that, head for their remaining industrial center and mop up whatever's left.
After Russia is taken care of (in the meantime, make sure
to beef up the French Coast if an invasion seems likely), the next stage in this Axis and Allies strategy is to start building up transports and cruisers. You'll need them to move your armies from Russia and Germany to Britain.
Make sure that up to this point no Allied ships move freely in the Atlantic. Keep your submarine force strong. If you're running out of miniatures for the sea battles, treat yourself to a War At Sea booster pack of minis
The Battle for Britain is your next step. Send EVERYTHING you can against the island: your entire air force, all your transports, and every man they can hold. With any luck, you'll win.
Once Britain has fallen, it's only a matter of time.
Your navy at this point should be massive -- but don't build a single battleship. They're much too expensive for the amount of firepower they give. Just build regular cruisers and transports, and keep groups of 3-4 subs roaming around the ocean in search of Allied ships.
Once you feel that you have sufficient forces, bring them all to America, and do it as one huge battle-group. You don't want your lone transports with expensive cargo getting sunk.
The last step in this Axis and Allies strategy: invade America!
