Amanda N. Nettgen fell in love with board games as a kid and is still a passionate player today
Amanda N. Nettgen is a twenty-something board game lover who's always on the go. She's a military wife who works various jobs due to moving every two to three years.
When she's not playing board games, Amanda enjoys video games, writing, movies, theme parks and foreign travel. She has visited sixteen countries and counting!
Amanda has always liked playing board games: she hopes they are not a dying breed. Her favorite board game as a child was electronic Mall Madness (despite never really being much of a shopper herself).
She has even made a couple of her own board games; in ninth grade, for example, she fashioned the game "Mummification" (like Operation) for history class. The object was to take body parts out of the mummy and put them in jars for the afterlife!
Amanda likes all sorts of board games, so long as they're fun and have replay value. She has an extensive board game collection as an adult and is always on the lookout for new, unique games.
Some recent favorites include: Cranium Hoopla, Blokus, The Game of Life: Twists & Turns, and The Newlywed Game DVD Edition (all of which have reviews by Amanda on the Boardgame Beast site).
